The Máximo Pujol Trío

The Máximo Pujol Trio was formed in 2010 to allow me to find new ways to express the music I have been composing over the years. It also provides an opportunity to perform my repertoire before an audience interested in the music of Buenos Aires.

Trios are one of the quintessential instrumentations of tango. Arranging and performing my pieces as a three-piece ensemble creates a dialogue between the guitar and two instruments that are emblematic in the language of tango: the bandoneón and the bass.

Since its founding, the Máximo Pujol Trío has recorded two CDs, both published on Acqua Records in Buenos Aires. The trio has performed to great acclaim throughout Argentina, including at the Festival “Música en la Ventana” in Sierra de la Ventana; the Teatro Municipal “Pedro Barbero” of Campana; the Conservatorio Alberto Williams in Chivilcoy; the Festival & Mundial de Tango 2012 in Buenos Aires; the arts centre “Usina del Arte” (C.A.B.A.); and the festival “Guitarras del mundo” in Buenos Aires; as well as at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and the Melba Hall Theater in Melbourne, Australia.

I am very fortunate to be able to perform these pieces with two of the most important musicians in contemporary tango: Eleonora Ferreyra on the bandoneón and Daniel Falasca on bass.
